Everlasting Burn

Everlasting Burn

A Poem by Ben

"Everlasting burn"

how do people,

live their lives?

running from their past,

or doing all they can strive,

do we live in the past,

of days come and gone,

we look at the sky,

and see yet another dawn,

is the past yesterday,

the day we just missed,

or when growing up,

our mom we just kissed,

is the past the foundation,

of who we are,

like we get hurt,

it would leave a scar,

do we learn from it,

play with fire you get burned,

just what are,

the lessons we learned,

is mine the same as yours,

did you learn what i did,

do you remember that castle,

you built as a kid?,

did you learn,

to open your mind,

to open the door for ladies,

to always be kind,

was you your own teacher,

to the lessons no one knew,

where you were the one,

that had to get you through,

tears and broken hearts,

time the only way out,

no where to scream,

no ear for your shout,

if you read these words,

then we share the past,

two alike souls,

in this world so vast,

scared at the heart,

forever we will learn,

the fire can have,

an everlasting burn.
