Dear You

My first try at poetry. This is a short poem i wrote about love and insecurity.

Dear you

Dear you, who I have in my thoughts

Do you feel the same way as I?

Do we ever think of or want for the same

As the time that we waste flies by

Dear you, who I think of all day

Are you planning to stay here with me?

Are you planning to be my girl for some time

Or are you planning to flee

Dear you, who I wish to see

Would you choose to stay at my side?

The fairest of women, I am asking thee

Will you ever tell me that you're mine?

This is very nicely structured and well written. For a first piece it is very nicely done.

Just remember for future pieces there are many different ways to write poetry. Not all poetry rhymes, though I myself prefer ones that do and have some semeblence fo a tempo of sorts. Some poerty tells stories, while others are simpley a way to release emotions. I encourage you to look into every new type and to try your and at it. Learn which style suits you and your needs best. As you try new styles you will grow as both a poet and a writer.
