My Mom

My Mom

A Poem by John A Raju
"

a tribute to my mom written hurriedly for mother's day

"
Mom you are the strongest pillar of my life,
Never weak, never wavering, be it in any storm or in any strife,
And to me you are the greatest mother,
You have never looked at me and said ‘I don’t care, I don’t bother’,
I have never known fear with you at my side,
However strange or bumpy my life’s ride,
I have hurt you countless times Mom, I have hurt you, I have saddened you,
I have been impatient, I have irritated you, I have maddened you,
And yet you show your hurt only in your eyes,
Patiently you teach me, silently you make me wise,
Love isn’t through mere words but through actions, you taught me,
Despite your long day’s work your food is always tasty!!!
Every day you are up before me, every night you sleep after I do,
Your love is like the sea Mom, I really really love you,
You are like the sun Mom, you nourish me, you always shine bright,
Out of the darkness of my life you bring light,
Thank you Mom that you care for me, not with regret but with immense joy,
And though I sometimes break you , you always see me as your little boy !!

Hi, John. Without doing a line crit, I will offer this:

Very strong and deep content. The meter actually works in the free-form format you have chosen. You made me smile with this, especially:

"Love isn’t through mere words but through actions, you taught me,
Despite your long day’s work your food is always tasty!!!"

I hope you don't mind this suggestion:

Spacing. Let this lovely tribute to your mother breathe. Make it talk like we talk.

Wonderful work, John. Well done.

You're sensational my brother. Heart felt every single line you wrote.
She's endless poetry. She's simple undefined saga.
She's melody, tune, words, my only statement.
She's truly a god. You made me cry. This is my second poem where I felt way better.
Better statements, rhymings, proper compound words, figure of speech.
Loved it.
Gonna share it to my wife and mom :)

Cheers!!
