emerald night

emerald night

A Poem by john doe

i walk the emerald night,

away from prying human sight.

my kind tend to churn my nerves.

and so it's best i put such

avoidable

concerns to rest,

with quietude of interlude,

through blanket black,

to star and moon.

a barking dog is hardly heard.

no children moan or adult stirred

a car or two with high beam light is all

of man in clearest view, except for me

to my delight, i find my peace

inside the solitude of emerald night.

the whole concept of the rhyme is intriguing to see from you...but you do it well..

.i love the contradiction between the childlike quality of a singsong rhyming melody and the anything-but-sweet, solemn tone of the tale within the tune...

sad yet splendid piece Love
