MISSING YOU

MISSING YOU

A Poem by John~D
"

A solider missing you at Christmas.

"

What can I say that’s not been written.

For all the words you know I’m smitten.
Love is the word that I'll use most.
A word that keeps us very close!

From dawn to dusk my thoughts are of you.
I think of the things we’d often do.
Through shops and markets we did wonder.
Being together made our love stronger!

When you sit for your Christmas meal.
Listening to all the jokes and spiel.
Drink a toast to the one you miss.
The one you love, the one you’d kiss!

For in this time when love is free.
Please spare a thought, a thought for me.
Then I will come to you one night,
and in my arms I’ll hold you tight!
