Heartless

Heartless

A Poem by Wyrn Tiger

You're so very late to a date with fate.

Standing on ice to thin

you see him standing there with a hammer and his Cheshire grin.

you drop down this rabbit hole

falling with no control

To a world that keeps growing sadder.

Late for tea with the mad hatter.

Don’t be afraid, take a sip,

one drop will make your heart stop.

This queen of hearts is heartless

her soul molded from darkness.

To you she points “off with your head.”

and let the river run red.

You knew your fate, Knew what was at stake.

Not only your head but your heart will she take.

So Tonight six feet under

join the mock turtle in his deep slumber.

A very vibrant piece of writing that uses Alice in Wonderland as a metaphor. Well done!

My dear friend. Hard and direct words and thoughts shared.
"This queen of hearts is heartless
her soul molded from darkness.
To you she points “off with your head.”
and let the river run red."
When darkness is in-charge. Is there hope? Thank you Wyrn for sharing the outstanding poetry.

I try to wright every poem a little differently then the last.
i like how you mix fantasy with the reality of love and what it can do to us when others take advantage of our heart...
but yes, we know we are taking fate into our own hearts when we let go and love.

first word should be "You're"

but a piece with some humor to lighten the mood a bit..since this kind of black widow is quite poisonous.

I will read 'Alice in wonderland' in a different light from now on

always thought 'The queen of Hearts' was a sadist and 'The Mad Hatters' tea party was a weird going on
