The placid Party People

Somewhere something strange is silently brewing in the darkness of minds.

Sing it out loud to the heavens,

sing it down below.

Because in between the placid party people post in pictures.

Nobody knows, neither us nor them, that demons dwell in the depths of our minds,

And after a while they will discard their tired mortal skins

and cross over to the land of the unholy gods.

Never again fearing death because they are the breath of death.

They reside in all,

but we, the placid party people post our pictures,

unaware of the demons behind the smiles.

I love this poem! Very well-structured. I can think of it as the pictures are our slacks of memories. And the demons created by ourselves, but they can override us and mess with our memories. The further memories we have, the less clear pictures we see. Like we tend to remember other people bad deeds but forget about their good actions. It's just my interpretation though. Thanks for sharing.

Every one has such awesome interpretations for my writing, things I wish I had thought of myself. And this is one of them, I wish I could say that I had some grand purpose for writing what i wright but i don't, I just let go and suddenly a master peace is born.

i think the demon is in technology...the devils behind that screen...life has become so much that...just parties and technology and that devil geek squad guy is loving it...we post pictures yes, but where is the human contact...where is the touch of hands of eyes...
i really like the theme i see here and the way you present this.

The ending was so good...i love the concept of this poetry and the lines are so creative! the poem has a creepy aura to it which delivers the message of the poem perfectly!

¡huuuuuuy! This sent shivers up and down my spine. It's a great premise! I'm debating about the execution, but that in the end may be just me, for on the whole it's simply a clever rendition of the truth behind the happenings of a party (with a vibe that seemed to centre on teenage bashes). Well done!

I don't quite know at the moment.....I just have this je-ne-sais-quoi vibe that something is off, which is why I'm analyzing and ruminating on it a bit more to be sure what it is. It may in the end be just me, as I said. But for the record, if you want to be the best you can be, don't use your head; use your soul. Don't think, feel. The poem will guide you if you give yourself to the art rather than actively try to control it.

Wow, what a cracker of a poem this is. And so very astute and true. We all have our demons. And hide them so well from others. But some actually do act on their sicknesses and demons and make them a reality. As they can't keep their vileness under control. They say there is a fine line between sanity and madness. And I guess that is pushing towards the craziness in all.

Yes I knew that there are demons in the depths of our minds
Mostly waiting; sleeping, until something awakens them.
Some people are taken over by the demon within
Nasty disturbed people
Who can never be kind
Always searching to do harm to those who's demons are supressed and sleeping
