What Are We?

What Are We?

A Poem by Wyrn Tiger

What are we? Are we machines? Programed to say the same thing over and over. Are we programmed to make the same mistake time and time again without fail? Are we programed to contract disease at a specific time in our lives. Are we programed with a clock to tell us how long or short we live? Are we even alive? Is this really blood, or is it chemicals our creator put in us? What are we really, are we aliens but are too afraid of ourselves that we call ourselves humans? Are we just puppets who do these stupid things to amuse our master? Are we human or programed machines?

We are the walking dead. We live our lives just to die another day. We are all alike because we are too afraid to be different and we don’t accept difference very often. We are trained to be polite, and we use the same words in the same way or we will get called out and hated for not speaking right. Even when we are fully grown, we still make the same mistake over and over with no end. We don’t learn our lesson until it’s far too late to fix things.

This is really thought provoking. I had not thought about this before now.
