Nightmares in Bold

Nightmares in Bold

A Poem by Wyrn Tiger

I left to forget but I never forgot,

the nightmares that were never told

from a past written in bold.

It's too bright to look at,

like sunlight at midnight,

but it cuts through my head

despite the wall brick walls

that, in the end, shattered like glass.

I want and wish it back

but still I seek to push it away.

I left to forget, but I never forgot

those memories that ripped the boiling tears from my eyes.

I wish it never happened that way.

This is very poetic in metaphors and the concept is portrayed well emotionally. Each line flows well into the next.

The first two lines are captivating like the first lines of a thrilling suspense novel.
My favorite line is “like sunlight at midnight”. I also think line 12 is really good and “I want to wish it back” is an enticing line.

I wish I could offer some helpful constructive criticism, buuuuut I don't have any.

I enjoyed the read!

Very emotional. You do a great job at contrasting imagery and feeling, which makes for powerful writing.
