Sinking

Sinking

A Poem by Wyrn Tiger

The hands of Poseidon made the boat look small.
Powerful waves crashing and bashing the hull,
Till the boats heart could take no more.
It hears the sea kings booming roar.
Slowly, silently, sinking Davy Jones song fills the boat with dread.
Heavy with water it takes a final rest on the soundless, soft, sea bed.

It might have at least placed were it tweaked a bit in musicality and some apostrophes and commas were placed in certain places. This is grand in theme and imagery; a couple of lines are powerful indeed. It simply does't quite sing this song of Davy Jones well enough to have merited the prestigious honour of winning....but I do see where the honourable mention came from, and on that congrats. Well done!
