I keep Flying

I keep Flying

A Poem by Johee Poetry

I look at myself in the mirror and all I see is faded spaces between my scalp.
I touch the tips of my silky black hair appreciating of whats left of it.
I feel the energy slowly leaving my weak body but I keep smiling.
This life is too precious to just give up.
I see the tiredness in my eyes and I don't want it to be confused as pain.
I feel as light as feather and I feel like running in the rain.
I hear the drums and base in the background and I wish I could dance.
This medicine in my system just won't let me be.
I am strong mentally and I hope others can see.
So, I fly free like the peaceful dove in the sky.
I feel as high as the wind.
Even if the world is looking extremely dim.
Whatever it takes to live a little longer.
Just any little thing that will please my soul a little longer.
I just want to live.
Please let me live....

This is beautiful--like hearing it from someone lying on a hospital bed. I love the theme of it--please let me live a little longer. Don't give up. To love life itself that much takes passion from the soul :)

I can imagine this, in many scenarios of people are aren't well, what we healthy types take for granted. This was a touching piece, the message was more heart-felt than most.

Optimism and being positive are a gift of our spiritual-health. Psycho-emotional health is way undervalued in our culture.

But more than money and physical health, it's this aspect that makes a life truly worth living.
