Silent KnightsA Poem by Johee Poetry

Walking in the middle of sand You are here holding my hand The moon is out And the sound of beach birds as we heard them cry from far Wind fighting against us as we stroll I start feeling a little cold Gentle sounds of the waves resting for the next day The shine of the moon reflecting the shadowy water Flashy lights around ocean drive hotels We pass by a few palm trees We see a group of homeless men yell With their beer bottles hidden under brown bags I wonder how long they've been living there and that makes me sad These are silent knights Struggling each rough day Either fighting from bad habits or just food They don't know where they are going because they have no clue Something got them there and yes life is not fair A missed paycheck can make it worse You are thrown out of your own house and it's like being cursed Prostitutes in the street as as a truck stops in the side These girls are not scared; they have nothing to hide Finding the easy way out to pay the bills Spreading AIDS and other s**t that kills These are silent knights This is an everyday life Lost souls inside these mindless bodies I just wish this wouldn't happen to nobody Silent Knights wandering around alleys Just Silent Knights © 2011 Johee PoetryReviews
