The broken doll

The broken doll

A Poem by Johee Poetry

Young girl ,  6 years old

Desperate for love , she does everything she's told

Asking Mommy why she's going out the door

Her mom never answers , she just so cold

Watching her mom open that bottle

Little baby girl doesn't know her mom is trouble

All she had would do is watch as her mom suffered

She didn't want to live because she was going down the gutter

Her husband left with no explanation

Now she thinks she failed as a mother

But all that baby needs is her mom to show that she loves her

Young girl with just a broken doll

Stuck in a room with just a dirty doll

Broken arms and one eye

She tells her doll everything is gonna be alright

She changes her clothes daily

Knowing her mom wouldn't be able to do this

She takes her doll to bed and gives it a kiss

She looks out the dusty window

Thinking if she should run and go

But she knows she needs to care of mommy

So she falls asleep and the night passes

Young girl with a broken doll

Stuck in a room with just a dirty doll

Broken arms and one eye

She tells her doll everything is gonna be alright

Her vision of daddy starts to fade as days go by

Her daddy told her he would come back for her but that was a lie

She remembered them fight

He didn't want to deal with her addiction

He gave up on his family

He didn't care about his little girl

So all that baby had was a broken doll
