ErosionA Poem by joeyA palace of stone Immense strength, integrity Tremendous valor, security
The cliff's sheer face preserving a facade of unmasked confidence retaining the front of misleading endurance
The unmoving mass of rock set in his ways, obstinate overflowing with absolute resentment
He stands with the grace of a god Emboldened by his own superiority; shoulders back, chin up that he doesn't realize his actions are unjust, corrupt
And so moves in the cleansing sand to steal away his pain Good-naturedly murderous, carried upon the wind and rain
And it storms upon him polishing away his essence the sand's melodious tug, bittersweet cadence
Unable to stir from the restraints in which he built The cliff begins to crumble, the world begins to tilt
Into the ocean he falls Relinquishing the last of his identity He's gone, I'm gone, Me
