Falling Angels

Falling Angels

A Poem by joey

Gossamer wings, return to dust

Plummeting towards the Hell that is Earth

Innocence lost

Sinking through the oceanic nighttime sky

Drowning in my own, all-encompassing evil thoughts

My life revoked

White linen robes,

of which I was once so proud,

turn as black as the Secrets I carry

This Knowledge, this "gift"

that was so pivotal to my race

is now my downfall, my death

Spiraling, tumbling

I spread my arms

and embrace the Earth

Thousands of my kind litter the ground

Crumpled and unimportant

All dignity lost
