I Remain UnchangedA Poem by joeyWent through a fight with a friend, ended up losing her to someone else. The infinite blackness surrounds me I draw it in closer
I have not seen anything but the blackness in quite a while I have not heard anything but the thoughts inside my head for quite some time
And then appeared the butterfly Fluttering its soft yellow wings
The blackness retreats at the radiance of the butterfly Its dance hypnotic
And then the whiteness appeared Brilliantly harsh but inviting
Soon, half was blackness and half was white split directly down the middle
So the butterfly had a choice to make to dwell in darkness or move into something brighter
It starts to make its way to the light but is hesitant
Hovering just at the point where the two sides meet the butterfly considers one last time
And then it crossed over into the world of light
I still see the butterfly but I am no longer its home
The light consumed the butterfly and it is no more
The light then consumed itself for it had nothing else to live for
And all was blackness once more I remain unchanged
