KnowingA Poem by Joe MorrisA poem regarding that sad time when you know there's someone else.My kisses fall on her body in vain, She doesn't and will never look at me the same. It is eternal woe that I now only know, Knowing he is in her mind as we make love.
Glazed eyes now meet mine, Not those that used to shimmer and shine. Her touch cold, clinical, calculated, I can tell my wish for love in return won't be sated.
I await the day when she tells me of him, I now grow more fond of hooch; sipping gin. Then she tells me the words that I dread, My life ceases to exist, my world decayed, rotten, dead. © 2012 Joe MorrisAuthor's Note
