SLUGGER

SLUGGER

A Story by Joe Milton
"

SHORT. FANTASY.

"

SLUGGER …

Slugger was the most wretched of abandoned ships.

Its interior shell was laced with mildew.

Screeches of painful malady seemed to ricochet throughout its innermost stomach and guts.

There lay a hidden secret. A rush of moist air filled a dark cabin.

The room had remained unlit for centuries.  Yet now, all of a sudden, impressions of intense bright colours beamed upon a crooked chair. A dog shape emerged " as if it had simply materialized through nothing but mere rainbow light.

The dog had coal fur, a diagonally tilted head and a rose silk tongue hanging from its lips.
