An Ocean's Wave

An Ocean's Wave

A Poem by Joel Moore

i feel the sun's warmth
hear the squall of a sea gull
and smell the ever lingering scent of kelp
the ocean swells

a kid laughs with a ball
another cries amidst mounds of sand
people are laughing
some even kissing
i dig my toes deep
to sand not yet warmed
smelling the saliferous breeze
as it chills my skin
the water peaks

i want to hold this moment
if for only a second
the wave crashes

it is gone

I liked the description, it was pretty. The second stanza though was a bit stunted to me; almost like each line fit with the line before it instead of the whole thing. I did quite like the last part though, that was good.
