Fate

Fate

A Poem by Joey Wilson

Fate can be cruel or kind, malice or benign,
can come after a long wait, or in the blink of an eye.
It can be horrid or wonderful, healing or destructive,
it can destroy a life or help reconstructive.
So then why do we think we can control it?
It is not earthly, has no conscious, has no wit.
It cannot be changed, cannot be shaped, cannot be prevented,
it is not something we can go around, something circumvented.
No, it doesn't matter what you think about fate,
just accept the consequences, no matter how long the wait

this is written well. it seems that you just state the obvious in your writing though...
you pretty much said, 'this is fate, just deal with it.' but more sugar-coated.

i think that "reconstructive" should have been written as, "reconstruct it" in the 4th line. it made more sense to me that way.

my favorite lines were: "Fate can be cruel or kind, malice or benign,
can come after a long wait, or in the blink of an eye."

its clear that you have talent. very good job. :)
