This Is War

This Is War

A Poem by A Foiled Soul
"

To the soldier, the civilian, the martyr, the victim.

"
To the soldier that fights,
The civilian that flees in fright,
The martyr that dies,
The victim that lies.
This is war.

With all we've got,
We cannot drop,
We will not rest,
We fight till the death,
This is war.

Thanks to the corporate,
Thanks to the greedy,
Thanks to the government.
This is war.

So what if Jesus was a facade?
Then that would mean the government's god.

That starving child with the stars in his eyes
And scars on his skin.
He's the one that's gonna win.

And you tell me to focus on my schooling.
As if my paper will provide an end to the bullets,
An end to the bombs,
And end to the bullets.

Its a brave new world...
And this is war.
