A Dreadful NoiseA Poem by A Foiled SoulImagine a void. Forever silent. Then you add a sound. Insanity would soon follow.
As I walk this road,
Forever alone, I try to make sense, Of these often tones, What is this I hear, It is burning deep within my ear, For these sounds are now beating, With the sound of a drum, My world is now filled, With "thrum, thrum, thrum", It is this sound, In pairs of twos, That scares me so, In a world of no cues, Where there is nothing, Not even a breeze, So why is it I hear, The noise of the machine, I met a girl, A pretty young lass, It is quite strange, She was holding a bass, The noise began, The dreadful sound, But this girl helped me, She helped me to found, That this noise was a heart, One I have never had, For I've always been, A dead young lad, You are in love she said, A moment too soon, As my world caved in, When I asked "I am speaking to whom?", Ashley she said, As quick as the beat, Now I could only hear, The sound of my feet, As I began to run, I know not where, I ran simply because, I was scared, For this girl was the one, Ashley is her name, She is the one I love, It is not just a game, I do love this girl, With all of my heart, So why is my world, Often torn apart, I then start to realize, She does not exist, Neither do I, Nor does the fish, I am a ghost, So alone and afraid, Walking inside my broken soul, Till the end of days. © 2014 A Foiled SoulAuthor's Note
