SayingsA Poem by Joejust my point of viewSayings BY JOE M. DEPATIE They say sticks and stones can
break your bones but words can never hurt. How naïve must one be To believe That the most common form of expression cannot
hurt
They say “home sweet home” How sweet is it really, when most
times it’s the last place some want to be? Whether it be family, chores or
you feel the daily races finally keeping up The home becomes a source of commitment
where you feel you must be Until you fall asleep
They say a picture is worth a
thousand words Is it really Or is it worth only the amount of
words that you need to tell the story Or until someone says “ok you
bore me”
They say there’s nothing like a
mothers love Why it is that some must hear
their mothers love through a phone Rather than see their mothers
love When they come home.
Sayings All it is, is “say” and “things”
put together People say things to comfort you To hide the truth To live in a false forever. © 2013 JoeAuthor's Note
