CAFFEINATED SLEEPLESSNESS

CAFFEINATED SLEEPLESSNESS

A Poem by Sir Joe

Abandon these veins

Connected, connecting

To my core rioting.

Invigorate me not!

Dark knees and pale hands

Now tremble unplanned.

Masturbate my mind

To jerk proteined ideas off

Not random, bizarre thoughts

Like outdoor threesomes

Or Temple Running

And TV guestings!

Importune me no more!

Bloodshot eyes need great doze

Be they bagged, let them close

Soon, we shall both repose

Alas! You’ll awake not

While I will rise up!

Masturbate my mind
To jerk proteined ideas off
Not random, bizarre thoughts

That might be what's keeping you UP at night! ;-)

I love the style of your writing, this piece is strong and creative. very vivid and dynamic in words play. I admired the unconventional usage of words which draws the readers to think and eventually merging into the story. I like how the story unfold and how I exprienced the whimsical landscape of poetry. This is a brilliant work, keep writing!

Great use of the language. You made your point loud and clear. I like the directness and the way you led the reader to the logical ending. Thank you for sharing the excellent poem.

First of all I want to say welcome back kabayan…

Literally my mind is thinking something else….lol for that! :D… consistent ka nga kabayan… like the last time I had read one of your poems… the style is still the puzzling playfulness in thoughts as in words… which is really great… Seems like a struggle on what thoughts to come out… an urge to write perhaps that so many thoughts running in mind that nothing comes out… until you begun to tire yourself but still well awake… not giving up… interesting approach kabayan…

Many times, writing is a refuge to a troubled soul, and whatever it is that troubles you makes me glad at some point. Welcome back! It is always a pleasure to read from you little brother.

I will decipher this with the help of Asset later. But I must tell now, you are consistent with your style. Infusing contemporary words makes the poem more interesting to read. Evidently the poem has a young soul.
