Lucy

Once when I was six, yes you heard me right, six.  My mom, room mate, and roommates son lived in a house in north Carolina.  Charles, the son loved to play with me, best friends and inseparable. We had always played out side in the yard.  Never really having much interaction with other children, only the ones at day care. Well one day I can not remember if it was summer or winter. But we like usually were playing in the yard. There was this big tree that we sat under at times.  And one day a young girl very young of age was sitting there. Just thinking she was another kid we went over to talk to her. I don’t remember what she said but I do remember she had a purple sweater. And that she liked use, I even remember her story. She said some 60 years ago it was winter, and it was very cold out side, very it was about to snow, were I live in north Carolina still but in a different town and it does not snow, but back when I was six it snowed a lot more. So I could imagine 60 years it would snow a lot. Her parents did not look in her room are look for her at all to make sure she was in, she was out side. It got colder and colder. She knocked and knocked on the door but no one helped her. So all there was left to do was sit under that big tree and wait. We played all day till my mom came in the room wondering what the extra noise was. And we told her Lucy was here

And she said

“oh really were is this Lucy

and Charles said in complete ignorance “ she left because she does like adults”

Till this day I wonder why she didn’t want revenge. I think because all she wanted was a friend
