A Letter To Heaven

A Letter To Heaven

A Poem by Jodie Ng

If I could send a letter to heaven,
I'd fill it with tears and smiles,
Tears that reflect the void in my heart,
A void that can never be filled.
A letter holding a smile to mask all that needs to be veiled.
It would, I hope, capture the essence of pain,
My hurt and losses too.
A letter that holds hope to see a better future,
But fears dreams will never come true.
An epiphany embracing a broken orchestra.
Is forever broken too?

Happiness that seems so close, but so far
Footsteps in the past fading with rust
A rainbow seen through a magnifying glass,
But blind to the naked eye.
If only I could send a letter to heaven.

If i could send a letter to heaven,
Patiently, I'd wait for a reply.
A reply I know will never come, not in words, not in paper
But a reply in feelings, love, comfort.
The blessing of my day, the shimmer in grey clouds.

A letter to heaven,
That's all I need.
A letter to you,
Is a letter to an angel.

If only I could send a letter to heaven.

This is brilliant. It's so beautifully written and with each word I feel the pain and the longing for the person to be back with you. Wonderfully done. Your work is beautiful.
