cookie's computer has a mind of its own

Puppy was one bored mutt not only was it raining outside. So she couldn’t go outside and play with her friends. And if that wasn’t bad enough her mother just finished telling her. That she had to take her promise bout taking her to the movies cause she had to work. And before her mother left she let Puppy know that Miss Crab would be coming over to baby sit her

I hate it when she treats me like a baby puppy. I’m old enough to take care of myself Puppy thought to herself as she went into the kitchen to grab a bottle of water, and then went back into the living room

Puppy turned on the TV but she couldn’t find anything that she wanted to watch

Okay now what are we going to do until Miss Crab gets here she thought to herself. A glimmer of the blank computer screen caught her eye. Puppy knew that she wasn’t supposed to touch her mom’s computer unless she was home. But what she didn’t know won’t hurt her a little voice inside her head told her. Puppy carefully turned on the computer and waited for it to warm up

WELCOME HOW CAN I HELP YOU? The computer asked after a couple of minutes

I’d like to play my puppy in the valley game Puppy typed

OKAY PLEASE PUT IN THE GAME CD

Puppy placed the cd into the computer rom and then pressed play. But instead the cute puppies that were supposed to pop onto the screen. A bright light filled the screen and before Puppy could figure out what was going on. She was being sucked inside the computer

Puppy was suddenly flying through a tunnel of colorful lights. And there was a group of strange looking animals all of them seemed to be talking to her. But she was flying by so fast that she couldn’t make out what they were saying. And just when she thought she’d be trapped in this tunnel forever. A giant turtle grabbed her by the paw and pulled her out of the tunnel. Puppy was about to ask it what his name was when a sudden loud noise yelled out

THERE’S AN ERROR IN THE SYSTEM

And before she knew it the computer spit Puppy out

Oh wow! There’s no way that any one is ever going to believe when I tell them what happened

Puppy looked at the clock on the wall

There’s no way that I’ve been trapped inside that thing for two hours. I wonder where Miss Crab is she should’ve been here by now. I better call my mom and tell her what’s going on

Puppy for sure thought that she’d be grounded when she told her mom about the computer. But her mom only laughed and told her

Oh Puppy! That’s some wild imagination you’ve there but sweetie. I only left the house only ten minutes ago don’t worry Miss Crab will be there any minute now. I’ve to go I’ll be home soon

Feeling confused Puppy got off the phone and just stared towards the computer

There’s no way that just happened ten minutes ago

She sat down in front of the computer and turned it back on. And after it warmed up again she got the same message again. And after a few minutes she found her new friend playing with some other animals

Oh hi Puppy! It’s nice to see you again do you like to play with us the turtle asked

Sure but I can’t stay long I’ve to get back. Before my baby sitter notices that I’m not home Puppy answered him

Don’t worry you’ll be back home in plenty of time the turtle smiled. Puppy was having such a good time playing with her new friends that she lost all track of time. And after a few more hours she told them

I’m sorry you guys but I‘ve to get back before I get in some real trouble

Okay Puppy but you come back to play with us real soon! The turtle smiled

Oh don’t worry I’ll! But umm can you please tell me how I can get back? Puppy asked. The turtle laughed before answering

Just close your eyes and say computer take me back

Then thanking her new friends she did what he told her and within minutes. She was back inside her living room she ran upstairs to her room and was surprised to see her mom sitting on her bed. And she looked like she had been crying

Hi!

Who are you? Her mother asked in a whisper

Oh very funny mom! Puppy laughed

Puppy? Where have you been? I’ve been worried sick for months just wondering what happened to you? Her mother sobbed

What? I haven’t been gone that long not months! Remember that I called you at work and told you about being sucked in the computer Puppy answered her

But it’s true Puppy here take a look for yourself her mother interrupted as she handed her a hand mirror

Puppy looked at herself and screamed her reflection showed a much older mutt. She rubbed her eyes and took another look and held

back her urge to scream again. The next thing she remembered was feeling light headed and slipping into darkness

A few minutes later she slowly opened her eyes. And noticed that she was in a room that wasn’t hers

Where am I? And why does my head hurt so much she thought to herself. She tried to get up but when she suddenly felt dizzy again

Whoa! Take it easy honey

Mommy?

Yes

Where am I? Puppy asked

You’re in the hospital sweetie don’t you remember you hurt your head on the side of the car. When you slid down our driveway I tried to warn you that it was too slippery. For you to be running around like that but you didn’t listen to me. I’m just so happy that you’re going to be okay her mother explained

But I was stuck inside the computer and was playing with a giant turtle and his friends. And when I got back you were upset because I was gone so long and I was a much older pup Puppy explained

Oh wow! That must’ve been some dream that you had sweetie. The doctors gave you some very strong meds and you’ve been sleeping for almost half the day her mother laughed

I’ve? But it felt so real to have only been a dream Puppy mumbled

I know sweetie but just tried to relax. Hey I know why don’t I go to the café and get you the biggest coconut milk shake that they have. That will make you feel better her mother smiled then kissed her on top of her head

Once Puppy’s mom left her room Puppy felt more confused than ever. She laid back down and stared at the ceiling and thought to herself

Oh wow! Dream or no dream one thing for sure is that there’s no way. That I’m going anywhere near her computer any time soon!
