SPOOK LAND

 

From the back seat Puppy noticed that Tommy’s brother Chuck turned up. The volume on his car radio as loud as it would go

"I guess that was his way of telling us that all our talking is starting to get on his nervous." But we couldn’t help ourselves we were all so excited. "When we received our invitation in the mail. To spend an all expensive paid week inside Spook Land

"I still can’t believe that we won free tickets!" "I can’t wait to get there and check out all the rides. Especially the Jungle Falls, I heard that once you start sinking into the quick sand." "You never stop!" Tommy Cub cried out

"Yah me neither, but I still can’t figure out how we got them" "I don’t remember entering any contests do you, guys Sammy Turtle asked. Tommy was about to answer him back. When Chuck interrupted him

 

"Okay you little monsters!" "We’re finally here!"

 

Then after grabbing their bags out of the trunk. They headed towards the park’s entrance

"Oh wow!" This place must be really scary we’re not even inside yet." And I can hear them screaming from out here" Vicky Dragonfly laughed

"Yah, I bet they’re riding some sort of roller coaster" "Or something close to it" Chuck answered "This place is going to be totally awesome"

"Oh wait!" "Sorry little brother but it looks like you are going to be stuck inside" The hotel rooms while we hit the park" He added laughing

"Huh?" What are you talking about?" Tommy frowned. Chuck pointed to a sign that had an arrow sticking two feet out of the ground

 

That read:

 

YOU MUST BE THESE TALL TO ENTER OUR DOORS

THAT’S IF YOU’RE BRAVE ENOUGH!

 

"Oh ha-ha, you’re so-so hysterically not funny!" Tommy smirked

When they got to the ticket booth. There was an ugly two face boar with green horns sticking out of his head. Sitting inside it

"Dare or Scare?" He asked Chuck

"Excuse me?"

"Would you like to purchase our Dare passes or the Scare one?" The boar asked him smiling evilly

"Oh neither." We received our invitations by mail" Chuck answered then handed them over to him. The boar looked them over then punched some buttons into his computer

"Ah yes!" It says here that you’re going to be our very special guest this week" He answered then pressed the button to open the front gates

"Please come in that’s if you all dare to!" He laughed

"I wonder what he meant by that? Puppy thought to herself. As she followed the gang inside the park

 

"Okay kids, please wait by the gate." And one of our ghouls will be by shortly to drive you."

"To our Dead Zone Inn" He instructed

Daisy was about to pick up her bags. When the ugly boar suddenly ran out of the ticket booth. And snatched her bags away from her

"Hey! What do you think you’re doing?" "Those are my bags! She yelled

"Oh don’t mind me Miss; you won’t need them anymore!" He laughed. He then took all their bags and placed them in a neat pile. He then took out a book of matches and set them on fire

"Hey! Are you nuts?" Chuck yelled "Those are our bags!"

"Not no more it’s not!" The boar laughed then took off running

"Can you believe that jerk?" "As soon as we get to the hotel. I’m going to report him!" Chuck growled. And before any of them could answer him. A loud honk interrupted

 

A few minutes later they were all gathered. Inside their hotel room

"Hey look it’s our bags!" "I wonder how they did that." Daisy frowned

"Aw who cares?" This place is supposed to be filled with weird surprises" "So what should we do first? Tommy asked them

"Oh wow!" Check that out! Puppy cried out. Before she walked over to a wooden glass display. That was next to one dresser. Inside of it was a dummy dressed as a fortune teller

 

"I love these things"

 

Puppy then took out a quarter from her pocket and dropped it into the slot. Soon the dummy’s hand came to life and dropped a small card down it

"So what does it say?" Vicky asked. Puppy looked down at the card and frowned

"It says if I ever want to have a future" "That I must leave the park and never return"

"Are we going to stay locked up in here all day? Or going to have fun in the park?" Sammy asked them

 

Half an hour they were walking around the park

"Oh wow! Chuck told them "Check that out!"

They walked over to it and saw one of the park’s ghoul. Placing a giant spider on one kid hand

"Okay now remember don’t let it fall off." "And the first kid it bites looses He laughed

"Oh gross!" Vicky began

"Oh I’m sorry I didn’t see you were standing there" A voice interrupted

"That’s okay, my fault I didn’t see you either." Are you okay?

"You look upset" Vicky asked the frighten looking rabbit

"Umm no, I was just looking for my sister" We split up looking for a couple of kids." Who disappeared into thin air" The rabbit answered

"Disappeared?" Vicky frowned "Did you guys report it to the parks ranger?"

"We tried but they just laughed at us." They told us that this was Spook Land kids, disappear here all the time." They just thought it was a big joke" The rabbit sighed. "You’d think since we’re special guest they’d treat us a lot differently"

"Even though we don’t remember entering any contest" Or even heard about this place until now" "My name is Joe, by the way"

"Weird neither did we." I’m Vicky, and these are my friends Puppy, Sammy, Tommy and Daisy

 

"So how did your friends disappear? Vicky answered him

"A day after we arrived at the park. We met two kids Jerry and Timmy," "They were also special guest"

"They told us that before we got here. One of the park’s ghouls warned them" "That every kid who was brought here as a special guest. Was in great danger" And should leave as soon as possible before it was too late" Joe started to explain

"How do you know that they weren’t lying? Or were only trying to scare you and your sister? Tommy frowned

"That’s what we thought too. Then we were supposed to meet them for lunch." So we could ask them some more questions. They simply disappeared into thin air" Joe shrugged

"Well maybe they went back to their rooms and forgot or something? Daisy added

"That’s the first place we looked for them. But when we got there all their stuff was gone expect for this" Joe began to explain. He pulled out an old newspaper clipping from his pocket. And showed it to the gang

 

It was a picture of an old looking Ferris wheel with flames coming out it. Below the picture read:

 

FIRE TRAP

 

"We thought it could be a clue or something if we could this ride. We might be able to find them or what’s going on around here" Joe answered

"Hey! I’ve an idea why don’t we go to see if we can find one of those information center. "They should have a list of rides on it" Puppy suggested

 

A few seconds later

 

"Wow! I didn’t think this park was so big. There must be over a dozen rides here! Chuck whistled. As he and the others read over the list of rides

"Yah, but none that sound like they could be a Ferris wheel" Vicky added

"Maybe it’s a new ride and its’ not working yet. Or it was really old and they decided to tear it down Sammy answered her. And before she could answer him back. Joe’s sister Cookie, came running up to them

Joe! "We’ve to get out of here! Right now!

"Whoa! Relax Cookie, what are you talking about?" Joe frowned

"When I was looking around I overheard two of the park’s ghouls talking." How soon every kid who was brought here as a special guest would soon disappear just like the others." She answered him

What! But that’s nuts! They didn’t just bring us here just to trap us in here." Why would they do something crazy like that? Sammy cried out

"Don’t know" Cookie shrugged "But I do believe that there’s something very weird going on around here"

"So far two kids have disappeared. And the only thing we had in common was that. We never heard of this place until now" And that we’re all here as special guest. She added

"Okay let’s just say its true. Let’s go back to the hotel and try to figure this out. I suddenly don’t feel very comfortable walking around here Vicky told them

 

When they got off the elevator. They bumped into a clown looking ghoul

"Don’t be scared I’m not going to hurt you. But you kids need to leave this place as soon as possible. It’s not safe"

He then took off running before any of the gang could ask him any questions

"Well that wasn’t weird at all" Chuck smirked after a few minutes of silence

"Why don’t we just get our stuff and go" Sammy blurted out. And before any of them could answer. There was a knock on the door, and a note was slipped under the door

 

That read:

 

Greetings! Special guest!

It’ll be our honor if you’d meet us down in our Vamp Café. For a midnight bite and greet!

That’s if you’re all brave enough, see you then!

 

"Okay, at first I was super excited about coming here. But now with all these stories of kids disappearing, creepy ghouls warning us to leave"

And now this I’m with Sammy, I’m so ready to get out of here! Daisy cried out

"Yah, we will go as soon as we find out what that note was all about. Hopefully we can get a clue of what’s really going on around here" Chuck answered her

 

A few minutes later they were all gathered inside the Vamp Café

"I’m telling you guys, I don’t have a happy feeling about this" Sammy was telling them. Tommy was about to answer him back

When one of the park’s ghouls walked out of the back room and interrupted

"May I’ve your attention? My name is Mr. Blue Toe, and I’d like to thank you all for coming"

"Now I’m sure you’re all probably wondering. "Why we invited you here? He began to explain

"Yah, how did you pick us! Puppy cried out

"Simple we picked your names out of the phone book." You’re here so we could show you a really scary time

"So scary, that you can’t wait to go back home. And tell all your friends about us" the ghoul laughed

"But what happened to the other kids? Cookie yelled out

"That’s a pretty good question. But I wouldn’t worry your pretty little head about that"

"Now I’m sure you all have a dozen more questions. But now won’t be the time. To answer them" The ghoul smirk

He then ran out of the room without saying another word

 

"Well that wasn’t weird at all. let’s get out of here" Chuck told them

 

A few minutes later, they were heading towards the front entrance of the park
