Fight

I'll be walking on tonight,
Guided by a pale moon's light,
Bruised, I've faltered in my stealth,
Anxious to conceal myself.

This battle won, another lies
Just beyond the nearest rise.
I take my rest. I know not when
The foe will rise to fight again.

I gather my wiles and strategize
The details of his just demise.
A fire within will burn so fierce and so bright,
It will banish him forth to hell's dark frigid night.

The sting of the truth is bitter and cruel,
My enemy lives in the heart of this fool.
I can hide, I can rest, I can burn til I'm blind,
Only Love kills the beast who lives in my mind.

This piece spoke to me of two things. The nature of feeling different and not wanting other to know, and about loneliness's battle along the road to a world with better understanding.

I thought the flow of the piece was really good, but the longer lines lost some of their energy do to some words that I felt could be cut, yet keeping the imagery the same.

Overall it was really nice!
