seperate doorwayA Poem by josephine dinnairthings are never what they seem....
flash , brazen , dressed in ill fitting white
adorned with jewelry as fake as your smile gangster who seduced yourself an empire village in your pocket lined too deep looming and drinking , teary eyed drama queen in more ways than one it transpires to black and blue bruised from silent enemy, concealed by drunken mishap love not enough if donated by struggling pauper remove father from him , money no reconpence destroy his ability to feel, now not your perfect prise launder his failings , confine indescretions to attic hustle bustle, noise of merriment hides the screams through seperate doorway, cradle new born b*****d child ceilings to low to stand, cobwebs to entertain fire suddenly rips through woodwork, heat throws him back i run through endless fields, too much space to breathe within the ashes still lie the deplorable iniquity of a mother hypnotised by power and the pound sign © 2010 josephine dinnair |
