hearts gander

hearts gander

A Poem by josephine dinnair
"

endless pursuit

"

cupid continues to fly on broken wings

how many have shot him down

with sharpened arrows of deep despair

i have more putrid blackened wounds than he

yet still i fling myself infront of blunted spears

to fill a gapping hungry void, i try to engulf

at speed they glance through me with no pain

as immune to it am i , i still yearn , crave , breathe it

nothing will ever rock deep enough to

satisfy my essurience for a sublime symbiosis

an empty shell fed only on shreads of bread

within my mind i slug through a deep marsh

up to my knees,  capable mud drags at my feet

tips of green reeds struggle yet resolve to poke through

i glance up at the opulent clouds

a golden speck, fresh cherub cheeks now glide

and i sigh , sink, sucked down , complete.
