Humor Me, Oh StrangerA Poem by Drifter
Humor me, oh stranger
See the depths of my bleak eyes, Tell me my whole story From which neutral blood cold lies. Humor me, oh stranger Tell me all that I have done, Shy not away from truth but count Each deed made one by one. Humor me, oh stranger What doth life's value really mean? Have I walked the Earth with filthy feet Or were intentions pure and clean? Humor me, oh stranger Tell me all there is to tell, Is there hope for me in years to come Or do I lock these gates of hell? Humor me, oh stranger Do these scars give thee a scare? If I were to give my life today would there be a soul who cared? Humor me, oh stranger Now I bid thee come and eat, Taste within this broken home From which doth lie cold feet. Humor me, oh stranger Is there hope in days ahead? Do you see me as I really am Or as thoughts drawn in your head? Humor me, oh stranger Why art thou so quick to leave? Am I unworthy of your virtued eyes Or the impression you had percieved? Humor me, oh stranger do not move from where you stand, I am not a monster, or nightmare's past Just a young fool raised by man. Humor me, dear stranger I beg you do not go! There's still so much you've left to say So much more I need to know! Deny me now, dear stranger Did we ever really speak? Will you walk by without a glance As I'm shaking, as I'm weak? Forget me now, oh stranger It appears all hope is lost, And you'd not care nor once believe What ignorance hath cost. Humor me, oh stranger Know the battle you have won, And I'll die unknown in sick despair Wasted words have deemed me done. © 2012 DrifterReviews
