CONTRAST

CONTRAST

A Poem by aacpuente

Long before the morning sun awakes
You are up to see the shine of the moon
Way before I could hear the Rooster's long crow
You're on the bed lying to your good night's bit of shut-eye
Stars twinkle as the birds soar
High in the sky of night and day
Pondering the time that passes by
Nothing symmetrical between the two of us
Up to seek what the world might offer
Between two eager mortals
Who have the world in the cold palms
Of their cold hands.

You've created a wonderful sense of anticipation with this reader. Also I do like you sparse yet expressive style.
