heliocentric

A Poem by james l navas

Stars splatter the night canvas,
imagination creates the shapes
among the random jewels.

Sun an eternal source of light,
promising warmth like a mother,
always there - every morning.

Moon taming the wild beast,
controlling the vast waters,
a beacon of hope,
promising to ward off the evil of the dark,

Earth a fountain of unprecedented beauty,
a haven of life,
used and abused - a child's favourite toy,
in desperate need of care and affection.
