An ode to my wife.

Seven Ways

 

I love you my dear,

like the flower loves the sun’s rays.

If you give me just one moment,

I will count you seven ways:

 

One

I love your eyes,

for they ensnare me.

Within them I stumble,

and fall trembling to my knees.

 

Two

I love your lips,

for they leave me intoxicated.

Drunk in their embrace,

you leave me wholly incapacitated.

 

Three

I love your smile,

for it lifts-up my heart.

Entranced by your beauty,

you had me from the start.

 

Four

I love your mind,

for you challenge my own.

With your wit and charm,

you are my unfaltering cornerstone.

 

Five

I love your heart,

for yours makes mine whole.

With all the love you give,

you  complete my very soul.

 

Six

I love your laughter,

for it makes my heart sing.

Without this melody,

I cannot find joy in anything.

 

 

Seven

I love your strength,

for you control my heart.

Without you in my life,

I would simply fall apart.
