My Princess

My Princess

A Poem by John
"

I wrote it for an old girlfriend I had a long distance relationship with. We didn't make it as a couple but this was the one person got put in my path who really made me mature and grow up.

"

My princess is so far away

I wonder when she'll know me

I tell myself I can make it through the day

but there's no solice to console me

She's a shimmering light, shinning through

Giving Guidace so bright, to a wondering fool

ind in this foggy life, I can set a course true

In this world my heart confides me

so forever I will wait

until the day she lies down beside me

realizing fate

My princess is all that I know

and all that I endeavor

I am mining for a heart of gold

and prospecting for a forever

every flash in the pan reminds me of her

but grains of gravel and sand keep me blinded and blurred

and she slips through my hands as I sift and stir.

In this world my life reminds me

of the price I have paid

But I know one day she'll lie down beside me

realizing fate
