steps

steps

A Poem by Jeff Loquist
"

...

"
a walk alone
is never lonely
when your mind wanders
seventeen steps closer
because sixteen steps
just wouldn't be far enough
and eighteen steps -
well,
eighteen would be overstepping
boundaries now, wouldn't it?

next time your mind wanders . . . stop on by, kindred spirits can wander in pairs now and then

Seventeen has always been one of my favourite numbers. But I also like overstepping boundaries. I think they are only there to be overstepped mebbe.

.
. yes ... absolutely ... in any case ... steps can only be 39 in number ... according to the classic "the 39 steps" ... especially if we are talking murder mystery ... which is obviously the case here ... (although a mystery should not be obvious) ...

I was kind of hoping this would be about the twelve steps but I forgive you. Anyway, I like it! It's one of those things that doesn't need rhyme because it's got great flow. It's very fluid. And the idea is very interesting, it feels like a beautiful passing thought. Pensive would be a good word. Well I really enjoyed, thanks for sharing.

like a rubix cube for rules of enchanted interactions~ what a wondrous way to present those delicate toesies always wary of a misstep~
