Epistemology

Epistemology

A Poem by Jostein Kasse

facial recognition software?
it's everywhere, i can't believe you never thought of it

one cannot be certain about anything,
i meet certain people
ones who know everything.

i cannot tell whether what they say is true
they seem to behave as though they know
what they say is true
and i don't know
i'm a fantasist
a conspiracy theorist, like "John".

how do you know?
how do you become one who knows?

do i know? or do i just think i know?
i know that he doesn't know
but he knows that i don't know

you're not intelligent enough to know.
you don't need to be intelligent enough to know
you can be the smartest person in the world
and not know what's going on

David Beckham knows.

i'm not a conspiracy theorist
- it's evidence based
anybody in journalism could tell

what do you write?

i write about media - it's difficult to talk
everybody knows about media
you don't have to teach it
people just know

i don't think so
when everybody thinks they know
nobody knows
the ones who know know
the ones who don't know
don't know that they don't know

if you want to hide something
one puts it in the most obvious place

how do i know what i know?

it's just media.
it's just media.
