Prayer of the Insomniac

Prayer of the Insomniac

A Poem by martinRFR

O dearest Madam A

So glum my life without

Your presence far away.

To naughty gods I’ll lout

Just let my ardent plea

Be granted honestly.

In the depths of my dreams

Of bliss I dance with glee.

Where you dwell within my whims

My affections are free.

Indeed I am so fond

Of you to world beyond.

If stark nights be kinder

For I lie so awake.

And the birds be wiser

May hear for my grim sake,

Sing my words to her ears

That mirth may wash my tears.
