Sharpies and SonnetsA Poem by JasmineA sad sonnet.Written
in Sharpie on a bathroom stall, and
plastered on each social profile, they
hide away behind a faceless wall, terrorizing
her to force a smile. Anonymity
chills her to the bone as tears
roll down her cheeks unto the floor. She
couldn’t be gladder to be alone, as she
closes and locks her bedroom door. The
messages pour in just like the rain pounding
against her wooden window-sill. Her head
aches as she sits and writhes in pain, wanting
none more than her heart to be still. From her
lunchbox, she grabs a silver knife, feverishly
wanting to end her life. © 2013 JasmineReviews
