Sharpies and Sonnets

Sharpies and Sonnets

A Poem by Jasmine
"

A sad sonnet.

"

Written in Sharpie on a bathroom stall,

and plastered on each social profile,

they hide away behind a faceless wall,

terrorizing her to force a smile.

Anonymity chills her to the bone

as tears roll down her cheeks unto the floor.

She couldn’t be gladder to be alone,

as she closes and locks her bedroom door.

The messages pour in just like the rain

pounding against her wooden window-sill.

Her head aches as she sits and writhes in pain,

wanting none more than her heart to be still.

From her lunchbox, she grabs a silver knife,

feverishly wanting to end her life.

Like a breath of fresh air here comes Jasmine with words of life and style. Nice skillfully placed ideas into verses. We hear about teens doing this quite often now a days. Bullying has been around since Satan tricked Eve into partaking of the apple. Why in this time are teens souls so week? I don't get it, I found my mother when she did it, but when I get down or depressed I just stay in bed knowing eventually it will be over. I'm sorry but I can't feel pity for a quitter and no excuses because it's a sin
