Chapter 9: Tattoo shopA Chapter by Ashley
Sapphire, Sean, Sally, and Steven all go up to the desk in the middle of the guys garage Tattoo shop. One of the assistance says, “Hey kids. Welcome to Angel Tattoo shop. You kids seem a little young and smell a little funny. You know drinking before getting tattoos or piercings make you bleed more? Hahaha kids.. how may I assist you?"
Sapphire speaks, “Hey. Um ok I heard from this chick in my Bio class that the owner of this shop gives kids underage cheap piercing and tattoos without parental confirmation. Sean and I want to get matching tattoos. Sally wants a Tragus piercing in her left ear. Steven wants a lip piercing on his right side. Can the owner take us one at a time or are there other people working too?” The women assistance speaks, “Oh listen that is suppose to be on the down low. We only give that out around Christmas time. I’m sorry but you have to come on with your parents if you want that now or come back in a few months. That is just they way it is around here, so the cops don’t get suspicious. Alright kids?” Sean yells, “Listen b***h. We walked here. WE ARE ALL MATURE enough to get these f*****g things put on our body. We will even tip you nicely. COME ON. What, you scared? You scared?? Aww the poor lady is scared.” The assistance calmly says, “I am not a b***h. And you have a very strange attitude. I told you kids, ONLY AT CHRISTMAS TIME… CHRISTMAS TIME is the only thing Sapphire loudly hears. She falls down to the ground right there. Wipes her eyes and smudges her black eyeliner all over her puffy crying eyes. Shaking she thinks to herself about Christmas time. That season holiday brings here back fantastic and horrible memories. Two years ago she received the black hoodie she always wears from her parents. That was a fabulous Christmas, she had a decorated tree with different flickering lights. Candy canes all over her home. Stocking up against the fire place. Drinking egg nog and handing out presents to the poor. Loving the special holiday. Until her parents died in a car crash. Sean says, “What’s wrong babe?” While Steven and Sally go down on the floor with her to hug her to help her stop shaking. Sapphire just shakes and cries there. The assistance added, “What is the matter with your friend? She looks like something just hit her. She keeps shaking and looks like she is biting her tongue? What the? Open her mouth. Make her stop. I will go get the owner, maybe he would know what to do.” When she leaves. Sean cries, “Baby stop, stop it. What are you doing? It will be ok. We will get tattoos and piercing or whatever you desire another day. Please calm down. Stop, just stop!!!!!” Sapphire ignores their presences she only wonders and ponders about last Christmas. Over her brother-in-laws house her and her older sister were spending Christmas time together. There were no gifts. She didn’t even give anything to the poor. Since the rich does not help her. Her Christmas tree was her brother-in-law’s empty green Heineken beer bottle. The Christmas lights where the lamp glowing upon the broken beer bottles all across the wooden floor. She took those broken pieces to clean them up. They cut her, ripping her skin open reviling her veins. But she did not mind. Her red blood filled the floor mixing with the broken beer bottles. That’s how she started to cut her wrists. Sapphire bites her tongue as she shakes to hope to bit her tongue off to bleed to death in the tattoo shop. Her memories are getting to her again. She thinks if last Christmas she was only in a bigger city than more people would care about her. The female assistance runs over with the owner. The owner responded, “Who are you kids? What are you doing here? What is the matter with this pretty young girl?” Sean reveled, “ We are here to get tattoos and piercing. My girlfriend Sapphire is shaking and crying when she heard your female assistance say that you only give kids what they want at Christmas time. I don’t know why my girl is crying. She won’t even look at me. She keeps staring at her hands and shaking. Please Mr. do anything. Her sister and brother-in-law are cops…” The owner says, “Cops? We don’t want that. Ok, ok. Listen Sapphire, I promise I will give you kids whatever you want. If you just please stop crying. Calm down. I didn’t know people wanted tattoos this badly. Here at Angels Tattoos we will help you.” Steven speaks, “Stop it Sapphire. Be delusional like you are, instead of worrying.” Sapphire suddenly stops shaking and whispers, “Its not that. I was just thinking about my jacket...” Sean says, “Babe you are ok!! You had me worried.” The owner speaks, “Are you alright? Where do you want this tattoo done?” Sapphire dries her eyes and says, “Sorry everyone I am ok now. I just think of my parents and how much I miss them. I know most people get their names. But on the night of their death my mother was wearing a pretty shirt with a sparkle heart on it. My father was wearing red socks with little hearts on it. Sounds silly but I want a heart tattoo. Since my boyfriend wants a gun tattoo, and we want matching tattoos. I would like a black and sliver gun shooting out a little red heart. Located on the left side on my shoulder.” Sally speaks, “All of a sudden you are ok? I’m bewildered. What the French just happened?” Sapphire rubs her eyes and babbled, “I told you I’m fine, back off. Get your Tragus piercing and shut the f**k up.” Steven and Sally both have the same shocking, mouth open expression on their faces. Sean says, “Babe relax. All of you get up off the ground. Sapphire follow the owner in the back to get your tattoo it will be ok.” The owner says, “Alright if this will make you stop crying then follow me.” Sapphire follows the owner in the back and sits her down. He says, “Listen we are alone now. Is this what you really want?” “Yes. Please. I just ask you one more thing. Please write my boyfriends name on the bottom of the little red heart. You spell his name, S.E.A.N.” “Um. Ok whatever you want darling. You will probably feel a pinching sensation. Don’t worry, just relax. At the end, try to take care of the tattoo. Are you ready?” “Yes. Carry on.” © 2011 Ashley |
