Heaven

Heaven

A Poem by Joshua Lobdell
"

This poem is special to me because it was the first poem I wrote after a long absence of writing poetry. I wrote it like four years ago now about the girl who made me see my marriage was over

"

White hot passion burns

And my heart yearns

For this thing that is new

As it pushes my life askew

The awesomeness that is she

What in heaven could this be?

My mind starts to think

And pushes me over the brink

Girl, do you know it's true?

That I completely love you

What is this tingling sensation?

This frustrating temptation

To throw it all away

And in your arms stay

But that really isn't for you

And now I feel a little blue

Because I can't make you see

What I wanted us to be

A world that I had created

But now my heart is deflated

Because I have to say goodbye

And all I can do now is cry
