Angel Without a ChurchA Poem by Jennie Leightona Poem I wrote for my mother. A woman who is forever doing God's work
She won’t be seen her praising God in a choir
And she doesn’t care much for the state of her attire
She won’t be seen leading a bible study or class
More than often, you will see her giving so-and-so some sass
Her shelves aren’t stacked with awards on display
But she’d give her last dime or the remainder her day
To help a dear soul who’s down on their luck
She doesn’t even care that she’s merely one of the ruck
She lives her life the way Christ would want her to
Helping those who need a friendly face to help them pull through
Those who could laude her, don’t know her name
But those of us who do, know all the same
Where earthly lists do not her name proclaim, St Pete’s Book will her Soul acclaim
