What's Out There? (a poem)A Poem by Joshua Donahuea poem that asks the big question that I am sure many people wonder about
What’s Out
There? (a poem)
I look up at the inky
black sky Bright, white spots litter
it tremendously What’s out there? I gaze at the pale moon as
it lights up the world of night The craters so large, they
could hold an entire city What’s out there? I can barely make out
planets that look like specks But they are extra large
that could hold anything But they are light years
away What’s out there? We may be able to see
galaxies that are billions of light years away We may be able to spot
comets and asteroids just as far But what we can’t see is
other life Does it exist? Is it possible? Is it rational? I would say so; otherwise,
it would be an awful lot of wasting of space We have rockets that can
travel so far, but no one can travel to other galaxies To other planets To venture out and explore But maybe one day, we’ll
be able to answer the big question: What’s out there? © 2011 Joshua DonahueAuthor's Note
