Blank Wall (a poem)A Poem by Joshua Donahuea poem of heartbreak (male or female) and the loneliness that is left behind when your only best friend is your blank wall.
Blank Wall (a poem)
This
blank wall whispers to me He
tells me what will never be How
we both lost our ‘you and me’ And
there’s nothing left to see Just
this blank wall The
silence looms above Asking
myself “was I not enough?” “Or
was it just fool’s love?” It’s
just too much For
me and my blank wall The
pictures, all ripped to bits across my floor They
were lovely memories, but now no more They
use to hang on my wall until they got tore Now
it’s just me and my blank wall I
stare at my phone, expecting you to call But
you won’t, It’s just me and my blank wall He’ll
be there when I fall Just
me and my blank wall He
sits there and stares at me Begging
me please To
let you go because you’re not what I need All
I need is me and my blank wall So
it’s just my blank wall and me again He
is apparently my only friend Seeing
as you stole my heart then Leaving
the pieces for me and my blank wall But
some day---one day---I hope to fill up my blank wall With
more pictures of memories from a new heart But
until then It’s
just me and my blank wall again © 2011 Joshua DonahueAuthor's Note
