Blank Wall (a poem)

This blank wall whispers to me

He tells me what will never be

How we both lost our ‘you and me’

And there’s nothing left to see

Just this blank wall

The silence looms above

Asking myself “was I not enough?”

“Or was it just fool’s love?”

It’s just too much

For me and my blank wall

The pictures, all ripped to bits across my floor

They were lovely memories, but now no more

They use to hang on my wall until they got tore

Now it’s just me and my blank wall

I stare at my phone, expecting you to call

But you won’t, It’s just me and my blank wall

He’ll be there when I fall

Just me and my blank wall

He sits there and stares at me

Begging me please

To let you go because you’re not what I need

All I need is me and my blank wall

So it’s just my blank wall and me again

He is apparently my only friend

Seeing as you stole my heart then

Leaving the pieces for me and my blank wall

But some day---one day---I hope to fill up my blank wall

With more pictures of memories from a new heart

But until then

It’s just me and my blank wall again

Once again, I don't really care for form. I hate when people expect you to have a typical form. I just write to do it. But anyways, I hope you likey! Let me know!

Even though this was sad (like heartbreak usually is), it was still very good and captured the emotions of heartbreak well. I liked how you emphasize the blank wall so well, and I also like the idea of the blank wall being your only friend.

Good write. :)

Lovely... absolutely lovely. The blank wall represents the emptiness we all feel when a relationship ends - it's a very creative, unique representation of that emptiness.

The poem flowed extremely well making it a great read. Excellent job :)

The blank wall seems like a better friend if you think about it, at least it won't break your heart compared to others... but I think it's also good to be loved back, hahaha, it's a pretty cool poem Josh, keep up the good work.

I really like the repetition of the blank wall, it truly reinforces the message in the poem. Very clear-cut, to the point and sad, yet still has a sliver of hope in it. Well done!

I this was really good. :)
I hate when people care about form to. The poem is nice the way it is. I really enjoyed this. After Danny broke up with me I felt like this. I really feel bad for when this happens to people. Thanks for sharing. :)
