Blank Wall (a poem)

This blank wall whispers to me

He tells me what will never be

How we both lost our ‘you and me’

And there’s nothing left to see

Just this blank wall

The silence looms above

Asking myself “was I not enough?”

“Or was it just fool’s love?”

It’s just too much

For me and my blank wall

The pictures, all ripped to bits across my floor

They were lovely memories, but now no more

They use to hang on my wall until they got tore

Now it’s just me and my blank wall

I stare at my phone, expecting you to call

But you won’t, It’s just me and my blank wall

He’ll be there when I fall

Just me and my blank wall

He sits there and stares at me

Begging me please

To let you go because you’re not what I need

All I need is me and my blank wall

So it’s just my blank wall and me again

He is apparently my only friend

Seeing as you stole my heart then

Leaving the pieces for me and my blank wall

But some day---one day---I hope to fill up my blank wall

With more pictures of memories from a new heart

But until then

It’s just me and my blank wall again

Once again, I don't really care for form. I hate when people expect you to have a typical form. I just write to do it. But anyways, I hope you likey! Let me know!

Even though this was sad (like heartbreak usually is), it was still very good and captured the emotions of heartbreak well. I liked how you emphasize the blank wall so well, and I also like the idea of the blank wall being your only friend.

Good write. :)

This was very sad, you got the emotion accross very well.
This reminds me of heartbreak, which it probably was about, and I felt sympathy for the speaker (whether that be you or not)
But as the author of this, you very well constructed something that many can relate to. Great job!

Good job. You caught the whole idea of heartbreak and loss quite well. I dug how you used the wall as not only a friend but as a representation of the actual relationship lost. Keep up the good work.

I really loved this piece. I really loved the imagery of a wall once filled with pictures of the loved one, now fully and utterly blank. Again Great piece =)

This was so awesome! this is saying that the wall is kinda like the only friend you will ever have and you'll have to add more more pictures frames all kinda of stuff on it so it just wont be dull. Nice work

Wow, I love the emotion. I can feel the heart break. I looooove the metaphor. The last verse is my favorite, so bitter-sweet.

AND I like the free verse! I think it flows well, and it isn't boring, like some typical ruled forms are.

Interesting piece.. to me, it felt like some parts were much stronger than others, but overall, the tone was consistent, and the piece was very well done. Nice job. c:
