If you are the windA Poem by J. K. HannahTwo people on two distinct paths meet in passing; nature metaphorsIf you are the wind than I am the river We meet in passing as you blow across my waters Your pace enlightens me and inspires me to rush We move in the same rhythm. Your movements are free in all directions You will know all people and are welcome in all places To not be in motion is to meet your death. So you fear
stillness as you crave life. Drought is my fear. To lack the rejuvenating rain of heaven
is my death. I am alive when I am flowing with new water I will give energy to many people and creatures I will travel too, feeling the earth below me and the wind
above me. Though I may be still for many years and become a large pool I will always move with gravity, a destiny set to the ocean You whisper what it is like there and I glow with the excitement
to keep flowing. © 2015 J. K. Hannah |
