idkA Poem by JJ Stellar
In the middle of all the chaos,
you were the one thing that stayed clear, like in the center of 1,000 people your voice was the only I could hear. But soon after you got a taste of my existence, a faintly painted picture of my life, you gutted out my heart and feelings like I was a pig for slaughter and you were the butcher's knife. Every time I confronted you, you offered a good excuse. You seemed so deeply sincere, especially when you'd look into my eyes and promised, "I never meant to hurt you, dear." Now that spring has turned to summer and we think we've grown up a little, I can almost convince myself you've changed and that it was never you who left my heart and soul so brittle. But no, I can't risk it, I won't take that chance because baby your name could never be in the same sentence as romance.
