Simple Inspiration

Simple Inspiration

A Poem by JasonSeamans
"

This was just something I felt strongly about and thought that it might be able to inspire hope in someone who really needs to hear and read these words

"

"I am only good at what I do."  This quote hit me in a profound way when I heard it.  This was spoken by Alan Alda recently in an interview he did, and I find it to be so very true.   We as people try so hard to find what it is that we are good at, without thinking that no matter what we do, we can only do what we are good at, and that is just simply being ourselves.  Is it really that simple?  Yes and no.  I say that simply because no matter what we do in life, we are always looking at what everyone else has and has done, constantly comparing ourselves to others instead of looking at what we have as individuals.  No one ever said life was going to be easy, but if we can look past what "Everyone else" has and focus on what we have been given, we will find that everything we have ever wanted is right in front of us.  Weather it be love, a job, house… all of these things we take for granted because someone has something nicer or what we perceive to be better, we forget what we have right in front of us.  Another quote that hit me in a profound way was this.  "Nothing worth doing is ever going to be easy."  In every possible way you can think about it, that quote is ever so true.  The true enigma of life isn't measured in material things, rather, in how we measure just what it is that we have right in front of us.  Is that ever an easy thing to do?  No.  What I have learned in this intricate roller coaster of life is that only what we do and how we come to do it makes this life we have been given worth living.  If you are looking for advise, it is simple.  Take what you have been given, all of the good and all of the bad, look at the lessons life had to teach you in the bad times and apply them to all of the good times.  Life is never going to be simple, but if you can take a moment to really look at the things you have right in front of you, you just might find something really great to be grateful for regardless of what you might think at this moment.  No matter what, "It won't rain everyday, the sun will always return and no matter what you are going through, a simple smile has a powerful and profound way of changing your outlook on life."
