Dear Hip Hop

Dear Hip Hop

A Poem by Blck Rose

I can't recall the first day I fell in love with you or even the first day I heard your voice or saw the first face of your many counterparts
Everyday I spend time with u
I even day dream about you
Wondering how it is to be you
Words of inspiration and meditation
Soothe my weary soul
You remind me of me
So misunderstood and judged
Everyone blames you for black crimes
The boys who throw up gang signs
Why everyone decides to get high
To see u degraded in such ways almost makes me cry
One of your counterparts referred to himself as the rose from concrete
But I view those same similarities in you
Coming from nothing yet so beautiful
No one talks about the lives u saved
Remember all the time u saved mine
How many nights you stayed with me whispered melodies to sweet the put me to sleep
When I lose faith u give me hope
U give me such big dreams
So big I wonder if the dream is really for lil ole me
I wanna be u so bad
I think ur cool.
Ur the kinda guy that would make me feel the nerdy girl I am underneath everything
Like the football Jockey but imma. Choir girl, Imma quiet girl
So I don't mean to shock u
But I ve been knowing for a while
And since I can't be u
I want to make love to u
Kiss u where it hurts give u everything u deserve
They dont know sometimes I wonder if u know
How much u mean to me
May you caress me
Please undress me
Take me naked and purely
Can you enjoy me
I know u into beats but I make my own melody
But if in the process we find our own beat
U can spit on it we can lay track down
I play the lead and u b the background
What we doin, makin our own sounds
True definition of a love song
True definition of a love song
Love in harmony
Our thoughts are our notes
It  doesnt matter if u give me a half note or a quarter note
as long as our notes are whole our love song goes on and on and on
So will our love
So will us
So will we
Years later I'm having ya seed
Look hip hop I made a little u and a little me
I made this creation for u
I hope u love him just as I do
Love you so much I wanted to give this gift to u
And I'm happy to say I want him to be just like you
that I hope u show em everything u do
Since I couldn't be u I wanted to know how to become one with u and make two
And I hope u love us too
Ur Child born from a sea of dreams
Ur child born from hearts bigger than fields of Lillie's
Ur child born from a soliders pride
Ur child made by u and I
Life we created
His life we shall shape it
Through him I will give him all the things I give u
Treat my seed just as a seed
Knowledge and patience nd love
Will water my seed
All things inputted in him nourishing in hope he will be the field of lilies just flourishing
Hip hop I just think the game need nurturing
Hip hop if my people listen to u maybe we can stop hurting
But these days hip hop just talks about the surface
Things seen by the eyes
I remember when hip hop talked to the mind
Was able to adjust the psyche inside
To open up our eyes!
U became the voice of black ppl
Hip hop u r the humanity of black life.
I simply wish to preserve u
And u give u life
It is I  sacrifice
Hip hop u will live beyond my lifetime
So during my life I got to give time
Raise yu right and leave the legacy right leave the culture right
For all the seeds of hip hop that come behind.we have to show the responsibility and value of holding a mic  #life
